Shiho　：

　Doug, I didn’t know Dallas was such an interesting city.

Doug　：

　Yes, most people only think of cowboys when they think of Dallas.

Shiho　：

　Some people are wearing cowboy hats.

Doug　：

　Right, some people do.　But most don’t.

　Hey, Shiho, this is the hospital where I was boen.

Shiho　：

　It’s really big.　And look at that sign over there.

　It says something about a piano competition.

Doug　：

　Dallas is famous for its imternational piano competition.

Shiho　：

　I didn’t know that.

Doug　：

　Well, 2013 is when it was started, so it’s fairly recent.

 

シホ　：

　ダグ、ダラスがこんなに興味深い街だとは知らなかったわ。

ダグ　：

　そうだね、たいていの人はダラスについて考えるとき、カウボーイのことしか思いつかないんだ。

シホ　：

　カウボーイハットをかぶった人もいるわね。

ダグ　：

　そう、中にはそうする人たちもいるよ。　でも、ほとんどの人はかぶらないけどね。

　ほら、シホ、ここが僕の生まれた病院だよ。

シホ　：

　とても大きいわね。　それにあそこにある看板を見て。

　ピアノのコンクールについて何か書いてあるわ。

ダグ　：

　ダラスは国際ピアノコンクールで有名なんだ。

シホ　：

　それは知らなかったわ。

ダグ　：

　うん、それが始まったので2013年だから、比較的最近だね。

2013 is when it was started.　　2013年はそれが始められたときです。

 

 

説明型の説明語句にはwh説も使うことができる。

wh節はwh疑問文と似ているが、疑問形を伴わない分の部品。

wh節とwh疑問文を明確に区別すること。

　　　　　This isn’t what I orderes.

　　　私はシーザーサラダを頼んだのです。

　　　　　I asked for a Caeser salada.

３）アトランタは私の両親の出身地です。

　　　　　Atlanta is where my parents are from.

　　　私はタンパで育ちました。

　　　　　I prew up in Tampa.
